An employee temporarily sent by their employer to work in another country while remaining employed by the sending organisation. Within the European Union, posted workers are entitled to core host country employment conditions including minimum pay, working time and holiday, with fuller host labour law applying after an extended posting. The concept applies to short assignments and project work that would otherwise attract little attention, which is why it is a frequent source of unintended non-compliance.
